Live by the Sun.  Love by the Moon.

A veteran winemaker
sets out to craft a world-class wine
That is all about what nature delivers...
Not the individual behind it.
If you are fortunate, perhaps you have tasted
one of the Rare and singular wines
made by the same hands.

but just this once

it is time for the winemaker
to remain in the shadows of the cellar
and allow the wine itself to
bask in the glow.

A WINE OF RARE Provenance, artistry and graceful character.

2011 CABERNET SAUVIGNON – MOON MOUNTAIN
Opal Moon Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the Mayacamas Mountain range from southerly exposed vines 900 feet above the valley floor. A deep garnet hue signifies depth and intensity while the aroma expresses notes of wild blackberry and Bing cherries, matching the full-bodied lusciousness on the palate.
2013 PINOT NOIR – SANGIACOMO
Opal Moon Pinot Noir is single vineyard sourced from sustainably grown vines in the heralded Sangiacomo Vineyards within the Sonoma Coast appellation, and softly expresses supple tannins and graceful perfumed characters of generous red fruit and spice.  A rarefied, refined Pinot Noir upon release but with ageability.
2013 CHARDONNAY
Opal Moon Chardonnay is sourced from sustainably grown vines of the estate Catherine's Vineyard in Sonoma's Los Carneros region. Bright acidity is the canvas for golden apple and citrus fruit, hazlenut, vanilla and spices. Just the right amount of 100% Burgundian oak smooths the way to an elegant and buttery finish.

crafting our wine

IN THE VINEYARD
Stewardship with scrutiny and restraint... especially as individual blocks, single rows and even particular vines are selected, with consideration of the land, terroir, and clonal provenance. Harvest is by hand, in the coolness of early morning.
IN WINEMAKING
Care, both arduous and meticulous... selecting and sorting of individual clusters, rejecting anything short of perfection right down to each and every grape. Careful attention to the wine’s progress as it develops its initial depth and elegance.
.
IN THE CELLAR
Curation of barrels and cooperage styles, composing the wine with artistry and flair, selecting final lots from only the best barrels, blending them for balance, harmony and the clones’ expressive character both today and across the years.
AS THE SUN RECEDES AND THE MOON SHIMMERS, LIFE TURNS TO LOVE.
